Peru is a very diverse country between culture, folklore and climate, being such a diverse and extensive country it is difficult to get to know it in its entirety, that is why we invite you to get to know it with our Perú Moments  itinerary in which we give you the possibility of visiting the most important places in southern Peru in 14 days, enjoying activities in Lima, the city of the Kings and Peruvian capital, then we will visit the Ballestas Islands with their diverse flora and fauna to fly over the mysterious Nazca lines. We will also visit Arequipa, also known as the White City, and appreciate the flight of the Condors in the majestic Colca Canyon, and then spend unforgettable moments living with the families that live in Lake Titicaca and being able to sleep in their houses suitable to receive the tourist. and being able to sleep on the highest navigable lake in the world. Day 1:

ARRIVAL IN LIMA (2.87 METERS / 6 FEET)

Upon your arrival you will be taken by private vehicle to your hotel located in the modern district of Miraflores accompanied by your guide, we will begin the visits in the Peruvian capital in Plaza San Martín, which belongs to the historic center of Lima, then you will walk through the pleasant Jirón of the Union. You will also have the opportunity to discover an amazing pedestrian passageway, immersing yourself in the world dedicated to postcards and philately (closed on Mondays). Then you will visit the Church of La Merced, a remarkable religious monument built in 1535, to then reach the Plaza Mayor, the heart of the city and where several historical monuments are located: among the most important, the Cathedral, the seat of government. After immersing yourself in the heart of Lima’s history, you will discover the catacombs of the San Francisco convent, which was a secret and hidden place for several centuries, a true labyrinth of underground passages.

Day 2

LIMA (2.87 METERS / 6 FEET)– BALLESTAS ISLANDS (2 METERS / 6 FEET)– HUACACHINA (406 METERS / 1,332 FEET).

In the morning we will leave by bus to Paracas along the Pan-American highway along the Pacific coast. Upon arrival we will move to the bay of Paracas, where we will board our boat for the tour. We have the boat trip to the Ballestas Islands, where you can see sea lions, pelicans, penguins and other seabirds. Along the way you can see the figure of the Candelabro, engraved on the side of a hill, it is a geoglyph of rock formation eroded by the wind and the sea. At the end we continue with the trip to Ica and we go to the Huacachina oasis , located in a desert where we will spend the night. Free afternoon with the option of buggying or sandboarding in the dunes.

Day 3

ICA (406 METERS / 1,332 FEET) – NAZCA LINES (600 METERS / 1,968 FEET) – AREQUIPA ( 2,335 METERS / 7,660 FEET).

This day after breakfast we leave for Nazca, where the visit of the Chauchilla Necropolis is planned ; Pre-Columbian necropolis, the only place in Peru where we can discover ancient tombs populated with mummies that have allowed us to reconstruct the history, environment, daily life, uses and customs of this civilization hidden by the sands of the Peruvian desert. Then we offer you to fly over the famous “Nazca lines”; that they will appear as a dense network of geometric and zoomorphic figures that reach between 15 to 300 meters in length, and certain lines up to 10 km; these are only visible from the sky. In the afternoon, the transfer will be made to the terminal to take the bus to the city of Arequipa where our staff will wait for you to accompany you to the hotel.

Day 4

AREQUIPA CITY TOUR 2,335 METERS / 7,660 FEET).

In the morning, a visit to the emblematic places of the white city and its surroundings is organized. Our visit begins with the viewpoint of “Carmen Alto” in this place we will observe the three guardian volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa. Then we will go to Yanahuara to appreciate the portals built in ashlar. Later the monastery of Santa Catalina known as the city within the City, founded in the year 1579, likewise we will take a walk through the Plaza de Armas and we will be able to observe the facade of the minor basilica of Arequipa, with a neoclassical style and the church of the company of Jesus. Later, as an option, you can visit the Andean Sanctuaries Museum, where objects and artifacts from the pre-Inca and Inca times are exhibited, as well as the famous “Juanita Mummy” or also called the girl of the ice.

Day 5

AREQUIPA (2,335 METERS / 7,660 FEET)– COLCA (4,160 METERS / 13,648 FEET) – CHIVAY (3,635 METERS / 11,925 FEET).

In the morning hours you will depart from the hotel towards the Colca Canyon in a tourist vehicle for approximately 4 hours until you reach Chivay , accompanied by your guide. During the trip you will be able to appreciate the natural reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca (4,300 meters / 14,107 feet), you will cross the Patapampa pass (4,900 meters / 16076 feet), where you will possibly feel the effects of oxygen reduction. At this point we will have an impressive view of the Hualca-Hualca , Sabancaya and Ampato volcanoes and glaciers . To finally arrive in Chivay where you will have free time to have lunch.

The Colca Valley has many hot springs which you can visit to have a moment of relaxation (optional entry, 15 soles per person, to be paid on the spot). Free dinner in Colca.

Day 6

COLCA (4,160 METERS / 13,648 FEET) – CHIVAY (3,635 METERS / 11,925 FEET) – PUNO (3,827 METERS / 12,555 FEET).

This day early in the morning we will go to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, from where you can enjoy an incredible panorama of the majestic canyon and its valley. From this rocky peak it is possible to observe the impressive condors, living in their natural environment, going up the Canyon. The abysmal climatic differences between the valley and the plateau favor the appearance of ascending air currents, a phenomenon with which the condors play.

We will continue the descent of the Colca Canyon on the left bank, to have time to enjoy lunch (not included), then you will board the regular bus to Puno (6 hour trip with stops). During the trip we will observe different stops to discover the specific biodiversity of this region, including several species of Andean birds.

The bus will drop you directly at your hotel or somewhere close to it.

Day 7

PUNO (3,827 METERS / 12,555 FEET) – UROS ISLANDS (3,810 METERS / 12,500 FEET) – AMANTANI (3,950 METERS / 12,959 FEET).

Today we will pass by your hotel in the morning to pick you up and head to the port where we will board the boats that will serve as transportation to the islands for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, to reach the floating islands of the Uros where we can visit and interact with the inhabitants of this place and learn a little more about their way of life.

Continuing with our trip, we will return to our boats to go to the Island of Amantani , where we will have an affectionate welcome from the inhabitants, and we will have a delicious lunch prepared by them, then we will be appointed families with whom we will have the great opportunity to share their experiences, sleep in their homes and in the afternoon we will take a short walk to the top of the island where we can see the Inca ceremonial temples of Pachamama and Pachatata , appreciate the beautiful landscape that surrounds it along with a spectacular view of Lake Titicaca and the magnificent sunset.

Day 8

AMANTANI (3,950 METERS / 12,959 FEET) – TAQUILE (3,950 METERS / 12,959 FEET) – PUNO (3,827 METERS / 12,555 FEET).

In order to continue our adventure, this day we will start with a delicious typical breakfast, and then board the boats to the island of Taquile where we will begin our walk to go to the main square of the town.

During our journey we will learn and know more about the history, its customs and its great landscape that surrounds the island of Taquile , later we will taste a delicious traditional lunch.

After a pleasant experience, we will go down to the port to board the boats, which will take us back to the city of Puno and back to your hotels.

Day 9

PUNO (3,827 METERS / 12,555 FEET) – LA RAYA (4,335 METERS / 14,222 FEET) – CUSCO (3,400 METERS / 11,154 FEET) – ROUTE OF THE SUN.

This day in the morning we will go to the city of Cusco along the Ruta del Sol. The journey will cross the Collao plateau where we will make a stop in the town of Pucará, famous for its handicrafts of the popular “bulls of Pucará”. Later we will stop at the border of Puno and Cusco, a place known as La Raya (4,335 meters / 14,222 feet), which is the highest point of our trip. Continuing with the trip we will arrive at the archaeological center of Raqchi , a sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacútec in honor of the God Wiracocha .

Then we arrive at the town of Andahuaylillas , where we will visit the church of San Pedro, better known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”, characterized by its richness and artistic beauty. Finally, after a long and pleasant journey, we will arrive in the city of Cusco where you will be received and driven to your hotel.

Day 10

CUSCO CITY TOUR (3,400 METERS / 11,154 FEET).

In the morning hours we will go to visit the ancient capital of the Inca empire and current archaeological capital of America; the city of Cusco that keeps within its walls and streets, features of a glorious past, the visit begins in the Cathedral, which is decorated inside with many altarpieces in gold leaf as well as its paintings that belong to the school Cusco, then they will continue through the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, where the remains of what was the temple of the sun, better known as Q’oricancha , are located .

Continuing with the visit, they will arrive at the archaeological sites, there they will visit the archaeological complexes of Qenqo , Tambomachay , Puca Pucara and the impressive Saqsayhuaman ; strategically built on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco. Its massive stone walls were amazingly carved and joined with precision. Some of these stones exceed 9 feet in height and weigh more than 100 tons.

Day 11

CUSCO (3,400 METERS / 11,154 FEET) – VINICUNCA OR MOUNTAIN OF COLORS (5,020 METERS / 16,426 FEET).

An unmissable adventure that is located among the main natural attractions, we will start with the pick-up from the hotel in Cusco heading south, during the last part of the trip we will pass by a beautiful stream, where we can enjoy beautiful landscapes and appreciate groups of South American camelids like llamas and alpacas.

Continuing with our journey , we will walk for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, to reach the main attraction of this experience, Vinincunca better recognized as The Rainbow Mountain (5,020 meters / 16,426 feet), you will have enough time to explore the area, take photos and enjoy the place and appreciate the majestic snowy “ Apu Ausangate ” (6,384 meters / 20,944 feet), which is the highest peak in this region. To then return to the city of Cusco.

Day 12

PISAQ SACRED VALLEY (3,346 METERS / 10,977 FEET) – OLLANTAYTAMBO (2,792 METERS / 9,160 FEET) – MACHUPICCHU VILLAGE (2,040 METERS / 6,692 FEET).

Today in the morning we will go to your hotel to start our excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will be able to appreciate different ecological levels to understand where and how the Andean man domesticated plants and animals to obtain an improvement in their production. such as potatoes, corn, quinoa, alpaca, llama, among others.

During our excursion we will be part of history in the different Archaeological Parks throughout this valley such as Pisaq , where they will also have free time to visit the picturesque craft market that contains very important artistic expressions such as textiles , goldsmithing, painting, silverware, among others, we will also take advantage of the excursion to visit the famous salt mines of Maras that have around 3000 small wells in an average area of 5 square meters installed on the side of the Qaqawiñay mountain and finally we will arrive at Ollantaytambo where we will be able to visit the archaeological site and board the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes.

Day 13

MACHUPICCHU (2,430 METERS / 7,972 FEET) – CUSCO (3,400 METERS / 11,154 FEET).

This day will be a very special day because we will go to visit the World Wonder of Machupicchu , in the upper part of the mountain is the so-called “Lost City of the Incas” which was built approximately in the middle of the fifteenth century until the middle of the century. XVI, without an obvious reason, it was abandoned and remained hidden from the eyes of the world to be scientifically discovered by an American explorer named Hiram Bingham at the beginning of the 20th century, who was in charge of the diffusion and the beginning of the investigations that to this day they are a mystery to mankind.

After our guided tour, we will return to Machupicchu Pueblo or Aguas Calientes where you will have free time to have lunch and board the return train to the Ollantaytambo station and then take our transportation that will take you to the city of Cusco to leave you at your hotel.

This day at the indicated time you have the transfer to the airport, where you have the flight to Lima and where later you have the international return flight.
