Alternative walk to discover the wonder of the Machupicchu world, the Salkantay mountain (6264 meters / 20550 feet) is located in the district of Santa Teresa, province of La Convención, Cusco region.

It is one of the most emblematic mountains of the Cusco Region, formerly it was one of the most revered and respected mountains by the Andean man in his cult of Pachamama or Mother Earth; It was climbed for the first time in 1952 by a French-American expedition made up of Fred D. Ayres, David Michael, among others.

Day 1:

MOLLEPATA (2,803 METERS / 9,196 FEET) – SORAYPAMPA (3,900 METERS / 12,795 FEET).

We will begin our adventure today with a pick up in the early hours of the morning from your hotel. We will go to the town of Mollepata where we will stop to have a nutritious breakfast. We will follow this route until we reach the Cruz Pata area, where our muleteers and all our equipment will be waiting for us.

Day 2

SORAYPAMPA (3,900 METERS / 12,795 FEET) – ABRA DE SALKANTAY (4,630 M / 15,190 FEET) – COLPAPAMPA (2,900 METERS / 9,514 FEET).

This day will be quite exhausting and exciting, we will walk about 20 km, crossing the Andes with a changing climate, after breakfast we will start the ascent to the slopes of the snowy Salkantay and we will arrive at Abra Salkantay (4,630 meters / 15,190 feet) which is the highest point high of our walk so we will stop to take photos and appreciate the beautiful landscape that surrounds us.

Continuing we will arrive at the area known as Wayra, where we will have lunch and rest a bit. Then we go to Colpapampa and in this section we will find a change in climate and temperature with a dry and temperate climate characteristic of this area, later we will arrive at the edge of the Cusco jungle where we will see a great variety of flora and fauna characteristic of the area. Finally, we will arrive at the small settlement of Colpapampa where our camp will be ready.

Day 3

COLPAPAMPA (2,900 METERS / 9,514 FEET) – SANTA TERESA COCALMAYO HOT SPRINGS (1,550 METERS / 5,085 FEET).

This day we will have a very quiet walk, we will wake up very early to have our breakfast and we will begin our walk until we reach the area known as La Playa Sahuayaco, where our team will be waiting for us with lunch and the vehicles to continue our trip to the district of Santa Teresa.

In this district are the hot springs of Cocalmayo, where we will have an afternoon of relaxation and rest, after enjoying these magical waters we will return to Santa Teresa to enjoy our dinner.

Day 4

SANTA TERESA (1,550 METERS / 5,085 FEET) – MACHUPICCHU VILLAGE AGUAS CALIENTES (2,040 METERS / 6,692 FEET).

Today will be a very fun day, we will go to the mountains that surround the town of Santa Teresa where we will have activities full of adventure and adrenaline, traveling on a zip line more than 1 kilometer away, crossing a Tibetan bridge and flying in the style of the condor.

Then we will transfer you to the hydroelectric station, where we will resume our walk to Machu Picchu Pueblo or Aguas Calientes where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5

LLACTA DE MACHUPICCHU (2,430 METERS / 7,972 FEET) – CUSCO (3,400 METERS / 11,154 FEET).

After a well-deserved rest, we will leave the hotel and board the bus that will take us to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, considered the jewel of Inca architecture and engineering. We will see squares, neighborhoods, houses, barns, streets, observatories and more. Built on one of the flanks of the “old mountain”, Machu Picchu is surrounded by subtropical vegetation.

After the guided tour, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then take you to the hotel in the Sacred Valley or Cusco in our private transfer.

Dinero extra en soles Algunos snacks como chocolate, barritas de cereales, caramelos, frutos secos, barritas energéticas, etc.
Una mochila para llevar agua, bocadillos, cámara, bloqueador solar, cosas de valor, chaqueta, impermeable, etc. Recomendamos traer una mochila 25-30 litros, pero si lo desea, puede traer una mochila o cualquier tamaño de mochila con la cual sienta cómodo.
